Overnight-Oats and Overnight Chia is becoming a simple way to save time, and have a healthier breakfast. Read more to find out why you need to implement them in your daily routine.

It’s Healthier

Overnight Oats

When you boil or microwave oats (oatmeal) oatmeal it loses around 25% of nutrients. Depending on how long they are heated, the more they loose. This is why soaking oats is healthier, as you are retaining 100% of the raw nutrients of oats whilst making it easier to digest.

Chia

There is no such thing as overnight Chia, as soaking chia can never be left for too long. Soaking chia is necessary to make them digestible. Chia is a natural fiber-rich seed, and what happens when you soak it is that a fiber (called mucilage) absorbs the water/milk and stores it around the seed so it can continue to moisture and provide the seed with water. The fiber is what creates that gelatine formed wall. It can absorb 27 times its weight.

Without soaking chia first you risk it absorbing nutrients in your gut, as the enzymes in chia will bind them, and ultimately irritate your digestive system.

You Save Time

By preparing them the night before, you save time in the morning. It’s more likely we will skip breakfast or revert to a snack, as we are too busy with our daily schedule of things we need to accomplish than what to eat. Having it ready in the fridge, not only gives you a reason to eat the healthy meal, but if you make it in a to go jar, you can take it to work, or eat on the go – you can’t exactly do the same with an omelet (but I applaud you for eating one on the go) .

Top 3 Health Benefits

Aside from the soaking, Chia and Overnight Oats have numerous health benefits, including the following:

1. They Help You Lose Weight

Both Overnight Oats and Chia are rich in fiber which will help you stay fuller (or at least feel fuller) for longer, as well as triggering the release of different digestive acids known for suppressing your appetite and also speed up your calorie-burning capabilities.

2. They Keep Your Heart Healthier

Overnight Oats and chia also has great reputation as a cholesterol fighter. High cholesterol is bad for your heart and cardiovascular health. More specifically, a fiber called beta-glucan in Oats has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels by 5 to 10 percent, keeping your heart healthier.

3. They Maintain Healthier Digestive System

If you’re human, there’s a 99.99% chance you have or have had some sort of digestive problems, wither slow or fast movement, bloating or worse. Oats and Chia help regulate bowel movements due to the high amount of fiber.

and they are versatile, make them anyway you like!
